Alloy 201 is a commercially pure nickel-based alloy that is having a maximum level of carbon to 0.02%. This alloy is providing very good ductile mechanical properties throughout the wide temperature range. It is also providing very good corrosion resistance ability in neutral to moderately reducing atmospheres. This metal is Ferro-magnetic alloy and this material is providing electrical conductivity when compared to nickel-based materials, low alloy steel, etc. Due to the low carbon content, this material is considered for the services above temperature 316 deg C, wherein alloy 201 with maximum carbon is not suggested.
