Nickel 200 and Nickel 201 flanges are commercially pure nickel grades, with carbon content distinguishing the two. Nickel 200 (UNS N02200) permits up to 0.15% carbon, while low-carbon Nickel 201 (UNS N02201) limits carbon to 0.02%. Their high nickel content provides strong resistance to caustic soda, alkali solutions and several corrosive chemical environments, making these grades suitable for demanding chemical-process applications.
The supplied size range for nickel alloy flanges is NPS 1/2" to 48" (DN 15 to DN 1200). Within NPS 1/2" to 24", weld neck, slip-on, socket weld, threaded, lap joint, blind and reducing flanges are supplied to ASME B16.5. Orifice flanges are supplied to ASME B16.36, spectacle blinds and other line blanks to ASME B16.48, and long welding neck and plate flanges to approved drawings or EN 1092-1 dimensions. Above NPS 24, ASME B16.47 Series A and B cover weld neck and blind patterns only. Spectacle blinds and other line blanks to ASME B16.48 are available up to NPS 24. ASME pressure classes range from Class 150 to 2500, while flanges can be produced to EN 1092-1 dimensions and drilled in the PN 6 to PN 40 range. Eleven flange and blank types are available with five facing options. Weld neck, slip-on, socket weld, threaded, lap joint, blind, long welding neck, reducing and orifice patterns are machined from forged blanks. Plate flanges and spectacle blinds are produced from plate. Chemical processors, caustic soda plants, pump and valve manufacturers and other process industries account for many repeat requirements.
Ready stock in Mumbai is approximately 60 to 70 tonnes. Every order is supplied with an EN 10204 3.1 certificate, with 3.2 certification available on request. The nickel flange range comprises two grades, distinguished primarily by their carbon limits. Nickel 200 is commonly selected for caustic and alkaline service up to 315°C (600°F). Above that temperature, Nickel 201 is preferred because its lower carbon content prevents the graphitisation that embrittles Nickel 200 during prolonged exposure.
Nickel 200 flanges are commercially pure nickel flanges used for caustic soda, alkaline and chemical-processing applications. The grade combines high nickel content with good resistance to several corrosive environments and is suitable for service temperatures within its specified range.
Nickel 201 is a low-carbon, commercially pure nickel alloy designed to resist embrittlement from graphite precipitation at high temperatures. Because ASME B16.5 restricts UNS N02201 to plate stock, hubbed flanges must be customised as machined components matching ASTM B160 or ASTM B162 standards.
ASME B16.5 and ASME B16.47 divide the standard nickel flange size range between them. Sizes and dimensions outside the standard tables can be machined from a suitable forged blank to produce custom nickel flanges against an approved drawing.

A pressure class represents a pressure-temperature rating system rather than a fixed working pressure. The allowable pressure varies with material, nominal size and service temperature, so the applicable ASME or EN rating table should be checked for the actual operating conditions.

Orifice flanges are supplied to ASME B16.36, which covers weld neck patterns in Classes 300 to 2500 and slip-on and threaded patterns in Class 300.
The facing is selected according to the gasket, mating flange and service conditions and is confirmed at the enquiry or order stage. Five facing options can be machined on Nickel 200 and Nickel 201 flange bodies:
Facing options apply to ASME B16.5 flanges in Nickel 200. Facings on Nickel 201 components are machined to the drawing supplied.
Machined faces and bores are protected before packing. Nickel alloy flanges are then packed in wooden cases, crates or pallets according to the size, quantity and destination. Each piece is identified with the grade, size, pressure class, heat number and applicable specification.
Domestic orders are dispatched across pan-India from Mumbai, while export consignments are shipped to the USA, Gulf, European and Asian markets. Stock items can generally be dispatched within 1 to 2 days, while made-to-order forgings require approximately 30 days, depending on the specification.
Chemical analysis, tensile testing and hardness checks are carried out according to the applicable material and purchase-order requirements. Dimensional inspection is performed against the governing ASME or EN dimensional standard before packing.
