The Hastelloy is a great combination of nickel and molybdenum. However, the nickel is present in high quantity. This high quantity of nickel gives crevice corrosion properties to the rods and bars. They are resisting pitting which is commonly experienced in the plummeting atmospheres. However, chromium is also added to the Hastelloy that results in oxidation-resistant in oxidizing media.

All the properties of bars and rods come from the Hastelloy. The alloy is formable and weldable thus making the fabrication of rods and bars easy. The ductility of the bars and rods are also good and can be cold worked. The balance in properties of the bars and rods can be easily made by rapid cooling. Welding of rods and bars using gas tungsten arc, shielded metal arc, gas metal arc, and resistance welding is possible.
The heat treatment of the HASTELLOY X BARS & RODS is possible at the temperature of 2150 degrees F or 1177 degree C. rapid cooling is also done for heat treatment of the bars. Bright annealed bars are cooled in the presence of hydrogen. They are useful in a chemical process component, furnace, and air craft components manufacturing. They are used in muffles, furnace baffles, catalyst support grids, retorts, and more of the chemical processing industry. The bars and rods are tested.
