Amigo Impex is a Monel Bars & Rods manufacturer, supplier, stockist and exporter operating from Mumbai, India, for over a decade. Two grades build the bar range: Monel 400 (UNS N04400), certified to ASTM B164 / ASME SB-164, and Monel K500 (UNS N05500), certified to ASTM B865.
Monel bar is a nickel-copper alloy product. Roughly two-thirds nickel alloyed with copper holds a machined surface intact in flowing seawater, hydrofluoric acid and caustic media that strip plainer bar within months. Annealed Monel 400 meets a 480 MPa minimum tensile strength. Monel K500 takes another route: aluminium and titanium additions age-harden the same matrix to an 895 MPa minimum tensile strength in the annealed and age-hardened condition, with a minimum yield of 620 MPa up to 25.4 mm and 585 MPa at 25.4 mm and above, without giving up seawater resistance.
Round bar spans 3 mm to 800 mm in diameter, with bright bar held from 6 mm to 190 mm. Flat bar runs 8 mm to 24 mm thick. Hex, square, rectangular, forged and threaded profiles follow drawings, with hollow bar bored from solid stock on request. As a dependable Monel bars manufacturer, cutting, machining, threading and fabrication run at our Mumbai facility, feeding pump shafts, valve internals, fasteners and doctor blades into marine, oil and gas, chemical and defence services.
Urgent orders are dispatched within 1 to 2 days, and custom sections need around 30 days. An EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate is provided along with every consignment, under AS 9120B, PED, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications, with pan-India supply and exports reaching the USA, the Gulf, Europe and Asia.
We manufacture, stock, and certify high-quality Monel 400 and K500 bars and rods in various sections, finishes, and custom sizes to meet rigorous ASTM and ASME standards.
ASTM B164 covers the nickel-copper grade, and ASTM B865, its age-hardenable partner, both adopted unchanged by ASME. Federal, British and German documents on older drawings map to the same two UNS numbers.
| Standard | Scope | Grade |
|---|---|---|
| ASTM B164 / ASME SB-164 | Nickel-copper alloy rod and bar | Monel 400 |
| ASTM B865 | Nickel-copper-aluminium alloy rod and bar | Monel K500 |
| QQ-N-281 | US federal Ni-Cu bar and rod, Class A and B | Monel 400 |
| QQ-N-286 | US federal age-hardenable bar and rod | Monel K500 |
| BS 3076 NA13 | British nickel-copper alloy bar | Monel 400 |
| BS 3076 NA18 | British nickel-copper-aluminium bar | Monel K500 |
| DIN 17752 | German rod and bar standard for nickel alloys | Both grades |
Two bar grades come under this range, and the split is strength against cost: Monel 400 covers general corrosion service, and Monel K500 serves designs where 400 isn't strong enough.
Monel 400 bar handles seawater, acid and caustic duty at 480 MPa minimum tensile annealed.
Age hardening through aluminium and titanium lifts Monel K500 bar to 895 MPa minimum tensile strength, with 620 MPa minimum yield up to 25.4 mm and 585 MPa minimum yield at 25.4 mm and above, for pump shafts and drill collars.
A required diameter either falls inside these bands or moves to a forging enquiry. The ranges below cover stocked and rolled Monel rods, sawn in-house.
| Product Form | Size Range |
|---|---|
| Round Bar | 3 mm to 800 mm diameter; large sections supplied forged |
| Bright Bar | 6 mm to 190 mm diameter |
| Flat Bar | 8 mm to 24 mm thick; widths to drawing |
| Hex, Square and Rectangular Bar | Section sizes to drawing |
| Length | 100 mm to 3000 mm and above; sawn to cut lists |
| Tolerance | H8 to H13 and K9 to K12 classes |
Accurately estimating round bar weight is essential for engineering, logistics, and material planning. Use this theoretical weight chart to quickly determine values for Monel 400 and Monel K500.

8 types of Monel bars and rods ship as machining and forging stock; we don't sell weld filler in this range.
Bright cold-drawn Ni-Cu alloy bar goes under the tool with almost no cleanup, while black hot-rolled stock keeps scale and machining allowance. Five conditions cover the range.

ASTM B164 covers Monel 400 bars and rods, adopted by ASME as SB-164, while Monel K500 bar follows ASTM B865.
Monel bars and rods are available from 3 mm to 800 mm in diameter in lengths of 100 mm to 3000 mm and above, with bright bar from 6 mm to 190 mm.
Order Monel 400 bar for general seawater, acid and caustic duty, and Monel K500 where the shaft or stem needs strength: annealed Monel 400 carries a 480 MPa minimum tensile strength, while Monel K500 in the annealed and age-hardened condition carries 895 MPa minimum tensile strength, with a minimum yield of 620 MPa up to 25.4 mm and 585 MPa at 25.4 mm and above.
Monel bars ship in custom lengths and cut sizes. We'll saw stock in-house against a stated cut list, with full mill lengths available in parallel.
Monel bars and rods can be welded by common arc processes. Grade 400 welds readily, while K500 is joined in the annealed condition and age-hardened after welding.
Superior corrosion resistance and robust mechanical strength make Monel alloy bars the ideal choice for critical industrial applications.
