These sheets and plates have austenite and ferrite microstructure that is due to their molybdenum, chromium, nickel, and more.

These are added in a set percentage to provide unique properties to the sheets and plates. Chromium is added in 22 percent, molybdenum is added in 3 percent and nickel varies from 5 to 6 percent.This results in twice the mechanical properties. Therefore, the Lean Duplex S32304 Sheets/Plates are useful for applications where the temperature falls between -50 to +300 degree C. however; these products are useful in low temperatures as well.

The addition of chromium content is done in high percentage and nickel in low percent to improve the resistance properties of the grade. The addition of nitrogen also adds some good property to the sheets and plates. Along with the chromium content, nitrogen gives excellent crevice corrosion and pitting resistance properties.

The Lean Duplex S32304 also infuses great characteristics to the sheets and plates. High mechanical strength, high general corrosion resistance, high corrosion fatigue resistance, and high erosion-corrosion resistance are some of those characteristics. Also, the weldability of these sheets and plates is good due to the use of the Lean Duplex S32304 steel grade.
