Amigo Impex is a manufacturer, supplier, and exporter of Inconel 600 Bars & Rods, based in Mumbai, India, and operating since 2013. Inconel 600 bars and rods form one of our core stock lines, held ex-warehouse with in-house cutting, machining, and threading. The grade, also designated UNS N06600 and Alloy 600, is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy produced in bar and rod form for service where heat and corrosive media act together. Its chemistry is based on a minimum nickel plus cobalt content of 72.0%, with chromium specified at 14.0–17.0%. The annealed bar has a 550 MPa minimum tensile strength and 240 MPa minimum yield strength. In the cold-drawn condition, these rise to 725–825 MPa tensile and 550–620 MPa yield for round bar, with elongation ranging from 7% in the smallest sections up to 12% at 25.4–63.5 mm. Engineered for high-temperature, aggressive environments, this material resists chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking and oxidation.
We are an ISO 9001:2015 and AS 9120B certified Inconel 600 bar supplier, stocking 3–800 mm diameter round bars alongside hex, square, flat, forged, and hollow sections, supplied to ASTM B166/ASME SB-166 and AMS 5665 standards. Ideal for furnace fixtures, chemical plants, and valve/pump shafts, these products are provided with mill test certificates.
The table below defines the supply envelope for UNS N06600 bar: governing standards; section sizes, delivery conditions and finishes, with testing and certification beneath. Each order is checked against these parameters before dispatch.
These standards specify commercial, aerospace, and forged nickel-chromium-iron alloy products, ensuring mechanical strength, chemical composition, and heat-treatment compliance.
| Standard | Scope |
|---|---|
| ASTM B166 / ASME SB-166 | Nickel-chromium-iron alloy rod, bar, and wire (hot-finished and cold-worked) |
| AMS 5665 | Aerospace: nickel alloy bars, forgings, flash-welded rings and stock for forging, annealed condition (current revision AMS 5665P, nominal 74Ni-15.5Cr-8.0Fe) |
| ASTM B564 / ASME SB-564 | Standard specification for nickel alloy forgings (including forged bar, custom shapes, and flanges) |
The nickel-chromium-iron chemistry of Nickel Alloy 600 defines its service range. It is the 72.0% minimum nickel plus cobalt base that resists chloride stress corrosion, while 14.0–17.0% chromium builds the protective oxide film. Nickel-chromium-iron alloy 600 limits per ASTM B166 appear below.
| Element | UNS N06600 (weight %) |
|---|---|
| Nickel (Ni) + Cobalt (Co) | 72.0 min |
| Chromium (Cr) | 14.0–17.0 |
| Iron (Fe) | 6.00–10.00 |
| Carbon (C) | 0.15 max |
| Manganese (Mn) | 1.00 max |
| Silicon (Si) | 0.50 max |
| Copper (Cu) | 0.50 max |
| Sulphur (S) | 0.015 max |
ASTM B166 sets separate minima for each delivery condition, each cross-section shape, and each size band. Design values do not follow from the grade alone, so all applicable rows appear below.
| Delivery Condition | Section | Tensile, min | Yield, min | Elong. in 2 in., min |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Annealed | All | 550 MPa (80 ksi) | 240 MPa (35 ksi) | 30% |
| Hot-worked | Round, 6.4–12.7 mm | 655 MPa | 310 MPa | 20% |
| Hot-worked | Round, 12.7–76.2 mm | 620 MPa | 275 MPa | 25% |
| Hot-worked | Round, over 76.2 mm | 585 MPa | 240 MPa | 30% |
| Hot-worked | Hex/square/flat, all | 585 MPa | 240 MPa | 20% |
| Cold-drawn | Round, under 12.7 mm | 825 MPa | 620 MPa | 7% |
| Cold-drawn | Round, 12.7–25.4 mm | 760 MPa | 585 MPa | 10% |
| Cold-drawn | Round, 25.4–63.5 mm | 725 MPa | 550 MPa | 12% |
| Cold-drawn | Hex/square/flat, to 6.4 mm | 690 MPa | 550 MPa | 5% |
| Cold-drawn | Hex/square/flat, 6.4–12.7 mm | 655 MPa | 480 MPa | 7% |
The annealed condition provides 30% minimum elongation in all sections, offering greater ductility and easier machining than cold-drawn material. Hot-worked round bar ranges from 655 MPa tensile / 310 MPa yield at 6.4–12.7 mm to 585 MPa / 240 MPa above 76.2 mm; strength falls as diameter rises. Cold-drawn round bar ranges from 825 MPa / 620 MPa under 12.7 mm to 725 MPa / 550 MPa at 25.4–63.5 mm. Cold-drawn hex, square and flat bar is specified separately at 690–655 MPa tensile and 550–480 MPa yield at 5–7% elongation. A mill certificate issued for one delivery condition cannot be used for another, so every enquiry must state the delivery condition.
Alloy 600 is designated differently in each national system. The table below maps the closest equivalent designations. These are chemical equivalents only — supply to a specific national standard (EN, DIN, JIS, BS, or GB) must be stated on the purchase order, as certification is not interchangeable between standards.

| Japan (JIS) | NCF 600 / NCF600B |
| China (GB) | GH3600 |
| Russia (GOST) | ХН78Т (ЭИ435) (near equivalent) |

Inconel 600 bars and rods comply with ASTM B166 / ASME SB-166, with AMS 5665 covering annealed aerospace orders and ASTM B564 covering forged bar.
Inconel 600 bar contains a minimum of 72.0% nickel plus cobalt, 14.0–17.0% chromium and 6.00–10.00% iron. Carbon is capped at 0.15%, manganese at 1.00%, silicon and copper at 0.50% each, and sulphur at 0.015%.
Annealed bar (all sections) is 550 MPa tensile / 240 MPa yield / 30% elongation, minimum. Hot-worked round bar runs from 655 MPa / 310 MPa / 20% at 6.4–12.7 mm down to 585 MPa / 240 MPa / 30% above 76.2 mm; hot-worked hex, square and flat bar is 585 MPa / 240 MPa / 20% in all sizes. Cold-drawn round bar runs from 825 MPa / 620 MPa / 7% under 12.7 mm down to 725 MPa / 550 MPa / 12% at 25.4–63.5 mm, while cold-drawn hex, square and flat bar is 690–655 MPa / 550–480 MPa at 5–7% elongation.
Equivalent grades for Inconel 600 round bar, sometimes abbreviated IN600, are UNS N06600, W.Nr. 2.4816 / NiCr15Fe, BS 3076 NA 14, JIS NCF 600, and GB GH3600. Incoloy 600, seen in some trade listings, isn’t a valid designation; Incoloy and Inconel are distinct alloy families.
Round bar is available from 3–800 mm in diameter in 3 m and 6 m standard lengths. Cutting to specified lengths is completed in-house, so scrap allowance is not built into the ordered quantity.
Surface finishes available on Inconel 600 bar include cold (bright) drawn, centerless ground, hot rolled, smooth turned, peeled, rough turned, polished, and ground.
The price of Inconel 600 round bar per kg in India is ₹2,200–5,500 per kg; it depends on four variables: diameter, delivery condition, finish and quantity, confirmed through a dated quotation because nickel raw-material costs move with the market.
