Inconel 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy holding a minimum of 72.0% nickel with 14.0–17.0% chromium. The alloy is used in service from cryogenic temperatures up to about 1095°C (2000°F), where its chromium oxide film resists oxidation and scaling. It also prevents chloride-ion stress corrosion cracking, a failure mode most common in chloride-bearing process streams. Inconel 600 plates are an annealed material that reaches a minimum tensile strength of 550 MPa with 30% elongation. In the annealed condition, the material forms and deep-draws readily, and it can be welded by the usual processes with matching filler (ERNiCr-3). Hard-temper cold-rolled sheet suits parts that need higher strength and hardness rather than formability. Our stock runs from 0.4 mm sheet to 25 mm plate in standard 4 ft × 8 ft panels, cut to specified sizes on request. Drawings written to 2.4816 or NCF 600 are matched against the same material. Shim sheet, perforated sheet, chequered plate and circles extend the range beyond flat panels for gasketing, screening and flooring duties. The grade is specified for chemical processing, furnace, power generation and aerospace equipment.

The difference is thickness, not the rolling route. Sheet is the thinner product; plate is 3/16 in (4.76 mm) and above. ASTM B168 covers both hot-rolled and cold-rolled conditions.
ASTM B168 covers Inconel 600 sheets and plates, and ASME adopts the identical requirements as SB-168.
Order Inconel 600 plate in the annealed condition for forming, drawing, or welding. Hard condition only suits unformed parts, as its 2% elongation cannot tolerate further fabrication. Consult reputable Inconel 600 plate suppliers for proper tempers.

UNS N06600 plate is Inconel 600 plate; there is no compositional difference, as the number is simply the alloy's unified numbering system designation. European drawings mark the same material 2.4816.
No heat treatment will harden Inconel 600 sheet because the alloy is not precipitation-hardenable; cold work is its only strengthening route.
