The range covers copper-nickel (cupronickel) flat-rolled products in two grades, UNS C70600 (90/10) and UNS C71500 (70/30), supplied against ASTM B171 / ASME SB-171 and ASTM B122. Nickel stands at 9.0 to 11.0% in the first grade and 29.0 to 33.0% in the second, with iron added for erosion resistance and copper as the balance. Immersed in seawater, the alloy builds a thin, tenacious surface film. Corrosion slows under that film, and barnacle attachment with it, keeping macrofouling rates low on permanently wetted plate.
Plates run 0.25 in to 5 in thick, and sheets come in lighter cold-rolled gauges, with hot-rolled, cold-rolled, perforated, chequered and shim forms rolled in both grades. Most of the tonnage goes into condensers, heat exchangers, hull plates, desalination units and seawater piping, alongside steady offshore and defence fabrication demand.
Ready stock in Mumbai runs at 60 to 70 tonnes at any time, priced per kilogram, with pan-India delivery and exports to the USA, the Gulf, Europe and Asia. A mill test certificate accompanies every order, and we hold AS 9120B, PED, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications.

Two grades make up the cupro nickel sheet and plate range. Cupro Nickel 90/10 covers the bulk of marine plate work at the lower nickel content, while Cupro Nickel 70/30 takes the duties that 90/10 can't.
Cupro Nickel 90/10 sheets/plates hold 9.0 to 11.0% nickel and 1.0 to 1.8% iron, balance copper. Minimum tensile strength is 40 ksi (275 MPa) in the as-hot-rolled (M20) temper; cold-rolled tempers run higher, from 51 ksi (350 MPa) at quarter hard up to 78 ksi (540 MPa) at spring temper (ASTM B122).
Nickel climbs to 29.0 to 33.0% in Cupro Nickel 70/30 sheets/plates, lifting minimum tensile strength to 50 ksi (345 MPa) up to 2.5 in thick and 45 ksi (310 MPa) over 2.5 in to 5 in, for higher-velocity seawater duty.

Plate is a wrought flat product over 0.188 in [5.00 mm] thick and over 12 in [300 mm] wide, in lengths. Sheet is a rolled flat product up to and including 0.188 in [5.00 mm] thick and over 24 in [600 mm] wide, in flat lengths or coils (ASTM B171).

Four processed types make up the CuNi sheet and plate range, each rolled in both the 90/10 and 70/30 grades.
Cupro nickel sheets and plates are packed in boxes, crates or bundles, and export consignments carry the packing method specified in the order. Cupro nickel sheets and plates comply with ASTM B171 / ASME SB-171, the plate and sheet specification for pressure vessels, condensers and heat exchangers, and with ASTM B122. Both grades also meet MIL-C-15726F, Am. 1.
Nickel content and strength separate the two grades. Cupro Nickel 90/10 carries 9.0 to 11.0% nickel at 40 ksi (275 MPa) minimum tensile. Cupro Nickel 70/30 carries 29.0 to 33.0% nickel at 50 ksi (345 MPa) minimum up to 2.5 in thick, dropping to 45 ksi (310 MPa) over 2.5 in to 5 in (ASTM B171).
Cupro nickel sheets and plates weld readily by gas shielded arc, spot, seam and butt methods, and both grades accept soldering and brazing. Machinability sits at a rating of 20.
Cupro nickel plates are available from 0.25 in to 5 in thick, in widths of 36 in to 60 in and lengths up to 240 in, with custom cutting on request.
Cupro nickel plates are used for seawater service because the alloy's protective surface film resists both corrosion and barnacle growth, holding macrofouling rates low on hull plate, condensers and piping.
Thickness draws the line between a cupro nickel plate and a cupro nickel sheet. For copper alloys the divide sits at 0.188 in (5 mm) under ASTM B248, not at the 6 mm figure used for steel. Anything above that is plate; below it is sheet.
