Monel sheet and plate is flat-rolled nickel-copper alloy. Monel 400 (UNS N04400) is certified to ASTM B127 / ASME SB-127; Monel K500 (UNS N05500) flat product is supplied to QQ-N-286, since ASTM publishes no plate or sheet specification for that grade. ASTM B865 covers K500 as bar, rod, wire and forgings only.
Monel 400 holds 63% minimum nickel (plus cobalt) against 28 to 34% copper. Monel K500 holds the same 63% minimum nickel against 27 to 33% copper, with 2.30 to 3.15% aluminium and 0.35 to 0.85% titanium added so the grade can be age-hardened. That balance keeps the metal sound in seawater, brine, hydrofluoric acid and caustic streams, with Monel 400 serving from sub-zero duty up to 538°C.
Cold-rolled sheet runs 0.46 mm to 6.35 mm and hot-rolled plate from 4.76 mm to 100 mm, the ranges ASTM B127 sets for the two forms; thinner gauges, from 0.13 mm, are supplied as cold-rolled strip and shim. Sheet is supplied in widths up to 2000 mm and lengths up to 6000 mm, and plate in widths up to 2500 mm and lengths up to 8000 mm.
Marine yards, chemical processors and oil and gas fabricators take most consignments, while power, defence and aerospace programmes account for the rest. Dispatch covers pan-India from Mumbai, and export shipments reach the USA, the Gulf, Europe and Asia. The stocked flat-rolled range holds two grades, both certified against the documents listed above. Drawings citing Alloy 400, W.Nr. 2.4360 or NA13 point to the first, and QQ-N-286 material points to the second. Copper-rich 90/10 and 70/30 chemistries belong with cupro nickel sheets and plates instead.
Monel 400 sheet and plate is the grade ASTM B127 itself covers; products are supplied as annealed or as-rolled, and strength rises only through cold working, never heat treatment.
Aluminium and titanium additions let Monel K500 plate age-harden to higher strength and hardness while matching the corrosion behaviour of the standard grade.
ASTM B127 sets the boundary at 3/16 in (4.76 mm): hot-rolled material of that thickness and above is plate, while cold-rolled material from 0.46 mm to 6.35 mm is sheet, so the two ranges overlap between 4.76 mm and 6.35 mm and the rolling route decides which form you receive. Sizes that don't appear below are cut to order.

Cutting to size runs on a water jet line, with edging, deburring and grinding completed before packing, so material arrives ready to fabricate.
Welding Monel 400 plate runs on ERNiCu-7 filler wire or MONEL 190 covered electrodes; matching filler chemistry carries the parent corrosion resistance across the joint.
Both grades are held as sheet and plate. Monel 400 takes the volume, while Monel K500 serves orders needing age-hardened strength.
A mill test certificate to EN 10204 3.1 travels with each lot of Monel sheets and plates; 3.2 certification with witness inspection is available on request.
