Amigo Impex has been a titanium sheets and plates manufacturer, stockist, supplier and exporter based in Mumbai, India, for over a decade. Cutting, machining, fabrication, testing and packing all run in-house, so a plate is dispatched from the facility, already sized, marked and certified.
Titanium sheets and plates are flat-rolled products certified to ASTM B265 / ASME SB-265. The oxide film re-forms almost instantly on a freshly cut face wherever a trace of oxygen or moisture is present, so the metal holds up in seawater, chloride solutions and oxidising acids that pit austenitic stainless steel. At 4.51 g/cm³, a titanium panel weighs roughly 57% of a steel panel the same size. Five grades make up the flat range: commercially pure Grades 1, 2 and 4, alloyed Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) and palladium-bearing Grade 7. Grade 2 takes the corrosion-led share of orders at 345 MPa minimum tensile strength; Grade 5 answers structural work at 895 MPa.
Sheet starts at 0.5 mm, and plate runs to 100 mm, annealed, with a mill or pickled surface and cut to the ordered dimensions. Heat exchangers, acid plant vessels, airframe skins and marine hardware take most of the tonnage. Supply runs across pan-India and into export markets. Every order ships with a mill test certificate, and our company holds AS 9120B, PED, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications, with 60 to 70 tonnes held in ready stock.
Every titanium sheet and plate enquiry is checked against the parameters below: governing specification, stocked grades, the thickness split between sheet and plate, supply condition, finish and the certification supplied.
We supply flat titanium products manufactured to strict industry guidelines. Certifications for specialised aerospace, surgical implant, and international requirements are available upon request with your purchase order.
| Standard | Scope |
|---|---|
| ASTM B265 / ASME SB-265 | Titanium and titanium alloy strip, sheet and plate |
| AMS 4902 | Commercially pure titanium Grade 2 sheet, strip and plate up to 25.40 mm (AMS 4902M) |
| AMS 4911 | Ti-6Al-4V annealed sheet, strip and plate up to 101.60 mm (AMS 4911T) |
| ASTM F67 | Unalloyed titanium for surgical implant applications |
| ASTM F136 | Ti-6Al-4V ELI wrought for surgical implant applications |
| DIN 17860 | Titanium and titanium alloy strip, sheet and plate |
Five titanium grades are held in flat form, and the choice depends on whether corrosion life, formability or tensile load leads the specification. The same five grades run through our titanium bars & rods range. The minimum tensile figures below are the ASTM B265 Table 1 values for annealed material; above 25 mm plate thickness, B265 allows properties to be agreed between mill and purchaser, so heavy plate is quoted against the specific heat.
Grade 1 sheet (UNS R50250) is the softest commercially pure titanium, certified at 240 MPa minimum tensile strength, and it takes the deepest cold forming.
Grade 2 (UNS R50400) is the volume CP grade: 345 MPa minimum tensile strength, 20% minimum elongation, cold formable, and standard for chemical plant equipment.
The strongest unalloyed option, Grade 4 plate, is certified as UNS R50700 at 550 MPa minimum tensile strength, trading part of its formability for load capacity.
Aluminium and vanadium lift Grade 5 (UNS R56400) to 895 MPa minimum tensile strength, about 2.6 times the Grade 2 figure. Cold forming isn't practical.
A palladium addition of 0.12 to 0.25% gives Grade 7 (UNS R52400) the strength of Grade 2 with markedly better resistance to reducing acids.
ASTM B265 sets the divide at 4.75 mm: material 4.75 mm and under is certified as sheet, and anything over 4.75 mm is certified as plate. Thickness leads the table below, with standard widths, lengths and panel sizes after it.
| Dimension | Range |
|---|---|
| Sheet Thickness | 0.5 mm to 4.75 mm (0.020 in to 0.187 in) |
| Plate Thickness | Over 4.75 mm to 100 mm (over 0.187 in to 3.94 in) |
| Standard Widths | 1,000 mm, 1,219 mm, 1,250 mm |
| Standard Lengths | 2,000 mm, 2,438 mm, 3,000 mm |
| Panel Size | 1,219 × 2,438 mm (4 ft × 8 ft) on request |
| Custom Sizes | Circles, blanks and cut lengths to drawing |

Titanium sheets and plates leave from Mumbai in export-grade timber cases or on strapped pallets, interleaved between sheets and edge-protected on cut plates so the surface doesn't mark in transit. Thin titanium sheet packs flat rather than coiled. Grade, heat number, thickness and specification are marked on every pack, and where an order also covers titanium pipes & tubes, both move on one consignment. Despatch reaches pan-India, the USA, the Gulf, Europe and Asia. Stocked sizes leave within 1 to 2 days, and made-to-order rolling takes about 30 days.
Each titanium sheet and plate order closes out with in-house checks: chemical verification, positive material identification, thickness and flatness inspection, and then visual examination before packing. The mill heat record and our own results are paired on the material test certificate, with EN 10204 3.1 documentation and third-party inspection available on request. Certifications cover AS 9120B, PED, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.
60–70 tonnes held in Mumbai, with urgent requirements dispatched within one to two days.
AS 9120B, PED, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018, with an MTC on every order.
Cutting, machining, threading, fabrication and testing all handled at our own Mumbai facility.
Original mill certificates plus our own test reports, so every batch can be traced back.
Non-standard sizes and specifications made to order.
Dispatched from Mumbai to every major Indian city, and exported to USA, Gulf, Europe, Asia
Thickness separates them. Under ASTM B265, flat product 4.75 mm and under is certified as titanium sheet, and anything over 4.75 mm is certified as titanium plate. Width matters too: below 610 mm, the same thin material is classified as strip, and plate must be over 254 mm wide. The chemistry is identical.
Specify Grade 2 for a formed part. Grade 2 sheet takes cold bending and deep drawing, while Grade 5 work-hardens quickly and is hot-formed or machined instead.
Yes, Titanium sheets and plates are cut to size in-house, by shearing on thin gauge and profile cutting on heavier plate. Circles, blanks and cut lengths follow the drawing.
Yes, every consignment carries a mill test certificate covering chemistry, mechanical results and heat traceability. EN 10204 3.1 certificates are issued when the order specifies them.
Titanium plate is specified over stainless steel plate where chlorides and seawater rule out austenitic grades, and where weight governs: titanium is about 43% lighter than steel at equal volume.
Corrosion resistance and strength-to-weight ratio together carry titanium sheets and plates into the following eight industrial sectors.
