These wires are made from nickel-copper alloy. It contains Nickel in approximately two-third proportion and it contains a high percentage of copper as well. This combination makes it resistant to seawater and steam at high temperatures. This is why industrial applications where high temperatures and voltage are a part of the process use these wires. And similar properties prevail in salt and caustic solutions as well. hese wires can only be hardened by cold working and these do not support hot forming. This presence of nickel in these wires determines many physical characteristics. Some of the most prominent are excellent corrosion resistance under the presence of all kind water and acids, good welding ability and high level of mechanical and tensile strength. This is suitable for all kinds of welding applications. But the tungsten arc welding is most commonly used.
