Amigo Impex is a Super Duplex Steel Pipes & Tubes manufacturer, stockist and exporter operating from Mumbai, India, since 2013. Cutting, machining, threading, fabrication, testing and packing all run inside our facility.
Super duplex steel pipes and tubes are ferritic-austenitic stainless steel tubulars with the microstructure split close to half ferrite, half austenite. In UNS S32750, the chemistry carries 24.0 to 26.0% chromium, 3.0 to 5.0% molybdenum and 0.24 to 0.32% nitrogen, lifting the pitting resistance equivalent number past 40. Chloride pitting, crevice attack and stress corrosion cracking stay controlled in warm seawater, brine and sour process streams. Pipe is certified to ASTM A790 / ASME SA-790, tube to ASTM A789 / ASME SA-789, and fusion-welded pipe to ASTM A928. Two grades make up the supplied range: Super Duplex S32750 (2507) and Super Duplex S32760, both holding a minimum yield strength of 550 MPa.
Seamless super duplex pipe runs up to 8" OD; heavier walls and larger diameters are plate-rolled with a single longitudinal seam. Super duplex stainless steel tube spans 0.250" to 1.000" OD with walls of 0.035" to 0.134". Weight follows the alloy's 7.8 g/cm³ density, and pressure design follows ASME rules. Offshore oil and gas lines, desalination trains, chemical process circuits and pump packages absorb most outgoing consignments. 60 to 70 tonnes of ready stock stands in the Mumbai warehouse, each heat traceable to its mill test certificate, and we hold AS 9120B, PED, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications.
Every super duplex enquiry is priced against the envelope below. One table fixes standards, grades, dimensional cover and construction; the table below maps each specification as per its product form.
The construction route decides which document a super duplex order certifies against. Pipe and tube answer separate ASTM specifications, and fusion-welded pipe with filler metal carries its own.
| Standard | Scope |
|---|---|
| ASTM A790 / ASME SA-790 | Seamless and welded ferritic/austenitic stainless steel pipe |
| ASTM A789 / ASME SA789 | Seamless and welded ferritic/austenitic stainless steel tubing for general service |
| ASTM A928 | Electric fusion-welded ferritic/austenitic stainless steel pipe with filler metal |
SDSS, short for super duplex stainless steel, names the 25Cr duplex family with a PREN above 40. Two SDSS grades are held in tubular form: S32750 and S32760.
Super Duplex S32750 pipe, the 2507 grade, is the default specification for seawater and sour duty, stocked in seamless and welded construction.
Super duplex steel tube and pipe carries tungsten and copper additions within the 25Cr chemistry, quoted where a project standard names that composition.
An enquiry quoting nominal bore and schedule reads as pipe; one quoting outside diameter and wall reads as tube. Both envelopes sit below; dimensions beyond them are confirmed against the mill programme.
| Dimension | Range |
|---|---|
| Seamless Pipe Outside Diameter | Up to 8" OD |
| Large Diameter / Heavy Wall Pipe | Rolled from plate with a single longitudinal seam weld |
| Pipe Schedules | Wide range of scheduled sizes |
| Tube Outside Diameter | 0.250" to 1.000" |
| Tube Wall Thickness | 0.035" to 0.134" |
| Length | Custom cut lengths available |
Each figure below is theoretical: kg/m = 3.1416 x wall x (OD - wall) x density / 1000, dimensions in mm, density taken as 7.8 g/cm³. Diameters and walls follow ASME B36.10M.
| NPS | OD (mm) | SCH 40 Wall (mm) | SCH 40 kg/m | SCH 80 Wall (mm) | SCH 80 kg/m |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1/2" | 21.3 | 2.77 | 1.26 | 3.73 | 1.61 |
| 2" | 60.3 | 3.91 | 5.40 | 5.54 | 7.43 |
| 4" | 114.3 | 6.02 | 15.97 | 8.56 | 22.18 |
| 8" | 219.1 | 8.18 | 42.28 | 12.70 | 64.23 |
One catalogue figure doesn't rate a super duplex line. Allowable working pressure comes out of wall thickness, diameter, temperature and allowable stress, so ratings are derived at the enquiry stage from the references below.
| Rating Input | Governing Reference |
|---|---|
| Allowable stress for the duplex grades at temperature | ASME BPVC Section II, Part D |
| Wall thickness and schedule dimensions | ASME B36.10M and B36.19M |
| Pressure design of process piping | ASME B31.3 |
| Mill hydrostatic or non-destructive test | ASTM A790 and ASTM A789 |
4 constructions of super duplex stainless steel pipes and tubes are quoted, with exchanger and condenser tubes priced as separate line items; matching super duplex steel pipe fittings complete the line package.

ASTM A790 / ASME SA-790 covers super duplex steel pipe, seamless and welded; ASTM A789 / ASME SA789 covers tube; ASTM A928 applies to fusion-welded pipe with filler metal.
You should specify UNS S32750 pipe for general super duplex service; it's the higher-volume grade. UNS S32760 adds tungsten and copper in the same 25Cr class for projects that name that chemistry.
Super duplex 2507 pipe to ASTM A790 / ASME SA-790 holds a minimum yield strength of 550 MPa (80 ksi), with tensile strength of 800 MPa (116 ksi) and elongation of 15%.
Seamless super duplex pipe is available up to 8" OD, plate-rolled beyond that, and tube runs 0.250" to 1.000" OD on walls of 0.035" to 0.134".
Super duplex pipe earns its premium where chlorides are severe: PREN above 40 against roughly 34 to 36 for 2205, roughly 22% higher minimum yield strength, 550 MPa against 450 MPa, permitting thinner walls at the same design pressure. Milder process duty is served by our duplex steel pipes and tubes range.
Welding super duplex pipe needs qualified procedures with controlled heat input, because the balanced ferrite-austenite ratio is set in the mill anneal. Uncontrolled welds lose strength and corrosion resistance; fabrication data accompanies the material on request.
Chloride resistance paired with high yield strength sends SDSS pipe and tube into 8 industries:
