Amigo Impex is an Inconel Pipes & Tubes manufacturer, supplier, stockist and exporter based in Mumbai, India, operating since 2013. We stock and supply nickel-based piping for industrial applications requiring high-temperature and corrosion resistance. Cutting, machining, threading, fabrication, testing and packing all happen under our own roof, so a cut-length order never waits on an outside workshop.
Inconel pipe and tube products are nickel-chromium alloys that hold a thin, self-repairing oxide film on the metal surface. The high nickel content provides strong resistance to chloride stress-corrosion cracking. Chromium carries the oxidation load. Between the two, the family keeps working where austenitic stainless pipe scales, pits or cracks, from cryogenic plant up to furnace atmospheres.
Four grades make up the supplied range: Inconel 600 (UNS N06600), Inconel 601 (UNS N06601), Inconel 625 (UNS N06625) and Inconel 718 (UNS N07718). Seamless product certifies to ASTM B167 / ASME SB-167 for the 600 and 601 grades, ASTM B444 / ASME SB-444 for 625, and ASTM B983 for 718, Welded pipe follows ASTM B517 for 600, ASTM B705 for 625, and ASTM B474 / B474M for electric fusion-welded 600, 601 and 625. Pipe spans 1/8" NB to 20" NB across schedules SCH 5 to XXS. Tube runs 1/16" to 4" OD on walls of 0.010" to 0.250".
Roughly 60 to 70 tonnes of nickel alloy stock stand in the Mumbai warehouse, every heat traceable through its mill test certificate, and we hold AS 9120B, PED, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications. Engineered specifically for high-performance applications including aerospace ducting, sour gas lines, steam generator circuits, and seawater exchangers.
Every enquiry is read against the inconel pipe specifications below before a quotation leaves Mumbai. It fixes grades, dimensions, lengths, ends and certification.
Which document a consignment certifies against depends on the construction route and grade. Seamless and welded Inconel pipe answers separate specifications, with the general-requirement standards sitting over both.
| Standard | Scope |
|---|---|
| ASTM B167 / ASME SB-167 | Seamless nickel-chromium-iron alloy pipe and tube (Inconel 600, 601) |
| ASTM B444 / ASME SB-444 | Seamless nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy pipe and tube (Inconel 625) |
| ASTM B163 / ASME SB-163 | Seamless condenser and heat exchanger tube |
| ASTM B517 / ASME SB-517 | Welded nickel-chromium-iron alloy pipe (Inconel 600 only; N06601 is not covered) |
| ASTM B705 / ASME SB-705 | Welded Inconel 625 pipe |
| ASTM B829 / ASTM B775 | General requirements, seamless and welded nickel alloy pipe and tube |
| STM B516 / ASME SB-516 | Welded nickel-chromium-iron alloy boiler, heat exchanger and condenser tubes (Inconel 600, 601) |
| ASTM B704 / ASME SB-704 | Welded UNS N06625 and N08825 tubes (Inconel 625) |
| ASTM B983 | Precipitation hardened or cold worked seamless nickel alloy pipe and tube (Inconel 718) |
| ASTM B474 / B474M | Electric fusion welded nickel and nickel alloy pipe (Inconel 600, 601, 625) |
Service condition picks the grade, not the price. General corrosion with heat points to 600, hotter oxidising atmospheres to 601, chloride and seawater chemistry to 625, and mechanical loading to the age-hardened 718.
Inconel 600 pipe, W.Nr. 2.4816, carries furnace heat and general corrosion in one chemistry.
Alloy 601 tubing, W.Nr. 2.4851, adds aluminium to push oxidation resistance past the 600 grade, which suits furnace and thermal-processing lines running hotter.
Chloride and seawater circuits specify Inconel 625, W.Nr. 2.4856, for pitting resistance paired with high strength.
Inconel 718 tube, W.Nr. 2.4668, is the age-hardened member of the set, chosen when mechanical strength rather than corrosion sets the design limit.
Inconel pipe sizes are normally specified by nominal bore and schedule, whereas tube dimensions are specified by outside diameter and wall thickness. Both envelopes are tabled below, and a size that isn't tabled is still worth an enquiry.
| Dimension | Range |
|---|---|
| Pipe Nominal Bore | 1/8" NB to 20" NB |
| Seamless Pipe Supply | Up to 8" NB; larger diameters welded and fabricated to order |
| Pipe Schedule | SCH 5, SCH 10, SCH 40, STD, SCH 80, SCH 160, XXS |
| Tube Outside Diameter | 1/16" to 4" |
| Tube Wall Thickness | 0.010" to 0.250" |
Each figure below is theoretical: kg/m = 3.1416 x wall x (OD - wall) x density / 1000, dimensions in mm per ASME B36.10M, density taken as 8.47 g/cm³ for Inconel 600. Alloy 625, at 8.44 g/cm³, computes marginally lighter.
| NPS | OD (mm) | SCH 40 Wall (mm) | SCH 40 kg/m | SCH 80 Wall (mm) | SCH 80 kg/m |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1/2" | 21.3 | 2.77 | 1.37 | 3.73 | 1.74 |
| 1" | 33.4 | 3.38 | 2.70 | 4.55 | 3.49 |
| 2" | 60.3 | 3.91 | 5.87 | 5.54 | 8.07 |
| 4" | 114.3 | 6.02 | 17.35 | 8.56 | 24.08 |
| 8" | 219.1 | 8.18 | 45.91 | 12.70 | 69.75 |
A single pressure-rating table would not accurately represent the full product range. Allowable working pressure on Inconel tubing follows grade, wall thickness, schedule and metal temperature, so each rating is worked out at enquiry stage from the references below.
| Rating Input | Governing Reference |
|---|---|
| Allowable stress by grade and temperature | ASME BPVC Section II, Part D (Inconel 600, 601 and 625). Inconel 718 pipe and tube is not code-listed for pressure design in Section II, Part D; 718 lines are rated to the purchaser's design specification or to API 6A718 for oil and gas service |
| Wall thickness against schedule | ASME B36.10M and B36.19M |
| Pressure design of process piping | ASME B31.3 |
| Mill hydrostatic or non-destructive test | ASTM B829 (seamless pipe and tube), ASTM B775 (welded pipe), ASTM B751 (welded tube). Testing is performed when specified in the product specification or on the purchase order |
5 constructions of alloy pipe and tube leave the works across the seamless and welded routes.

Four grades of Inconel pipes and tubes are available: Inconel 600, 601, 625 and 718, supplied in seamless and welded construction from Mumbai stock.
ASTM B167 / ASME SB-167 applies to seamless Inconel 600 and 601 pipe, ASTM B444 / ASME SB-444 to seamless 625, and ASTM B983 to seamless 718. Welded pipe follows ASTM B517 for 600 and ASTM B705 for 625, while electric fusion welded 600, 601 and 625 pipe is supplied to ASTM B474 / B474M.
Choose Inconel 600 pipe for furnace heat and general corrosive duty, and Inconel 625 pipe where chloride media, seawater or acids attack the bore and the line needs higher strength.
Inconel 718 tubing is specified when mechanical strength governs the design. The grade can be age-hardened to achieve higher mechanical strength than the solid-solution grades, making it suitable for demanding aerospace applications, which is why aerospace programmes specify it.
Yes, Amigo Impex exports Inconel pipes and tubes from India to the USA, the Gulf, Europe and Asia with full export documentation.
Resistance to heat, chloride attack and mechanical degradation makes Inconel tubing suitable for applications across the following industries:
