The standard duplex range includes grade 2205, supplied as UNS S31803 or UNS S32205, with chemistry to ASTM A479/A479M and delivery conditions to EN 10088-3 (grade 1.4462). Where 1.4462 is required on the certificate, nitrogen is held at 0.10 % minimum so that the same heat satisfies both the EN and the ASTM limits. Cutting, testing and packing are carried out in-house before dispatch.
A microstructure containing roughly equal proportions of ferrite and austenite gives duplex steel wire its characteristic combination of strength and corrosion resistance. The ferritic phase contributes to high yield strength, while chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen improve resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking. These properties make duplex wire suitable for brine circuits, seawater exposure and demanding chemical-processing environments.
Wire is supplied in annealed or cold-drawn condition, depending on the order, and can be provided on spools, in coils or as straightened cut lengths.
Ready stock in Mumbai is approximately 60 to 70 tonnes, allowing stock orders to be dispatched within 1 to 2 days. Made-to-order sizes generally require around 30 days. EN 10088-3 is the delivery standard for duplex wire and covers grade 1.4462. Where an ASTM chemistry reference is required on the certificate, the S31803 and S32205 composition limits are taken from ASTM A479/A479M. EN 10204 defines the inspection documentation supplied with the material.

The standard duplex wire range is based on grade 2205, supplied as UNS S31803 or UNS S32205 depending on the order requirement.
Duplex S31803 wire contains approximately 21.0 to 23.0% chromium, 4.5 to 6.5% nickel, 2.5 to 3.5% molybdenum and 0.08 to 0.20% nitrogen. S32205 holds chromium to 22.0% minimum, molybdenum to 3.0% minimum and nitrogen to 0.14% minimum.

Duplex steel wire is packed according to the supply format and destination. Spools are boxed and protected against moisture, while coils are secured with suitable wrapping and strapping. Straightened cut lengths are packed in lined cases where required for transport.
Each package is marked with the heat number, grade, diameter and governing specification. Custom marking can also be provided when specified in the order. Domestic consignments are dispatched across pan-India from Mumbai, while export shipments are prepared for the USA, the Gulf, Europe and Asia with the required documentation.
Positive material identification, chemical analysis and dimensional inspection are carried out according to the applicable material specification and purchase-order requirements. For drawn wire, tensile properties depend on factors such as the finished diameter and condition, so the supplied material is documented against the applicable requirements and tested results.

Yes, duplex steel wire generally provides higher yield strength than annealed 316 stainless steel wire and offers improved resistance to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking. 316 stainless steel wire may be preferred where extensive forming or non-magnetic behaviour is required.
Duplex 2205 wire is supplied against EN 10088-3, grade 1.4462, with chemistry conforming to UNS S31803 or UNS S32205 as specified in the order. Because EN 10088-3 requires 0.10-0.22 % nitrogen for 1.4462 while ASTM A479/A479M allows 0.08-0.20 % for S31803, dual-certified material is supplied at 0.10 % nitrogen minimum. ASTM does not publish a wire specification covering 2205, so where an ASTM reference is required on the certificate we quote the A479/A479M chemistry limits and confirm the exact wording before the order is confirmed.
