Amigo Impex is a stainless steel wires manufacturer, stockist, supplier and exporter based in Mumbai, India, active since 2013. Grades 310 and 321 are supplied to ASTM A580/A580M, with ASTM A555/A555M covering the applicable general requirements. The precipitation-hardening grades are supplied to their own specifications: 17-7 PH under AMS 5678 as cold-drawn wire, or as Type 631 under ASTM A313/A313M where spring wire is required; 17-4 PH under AMS 5643; and 15-5 PH under AMS 5659.

Stainless Steel Wires Manufacturer & Supplier in India

Stainless steel wire derives its corrosion resistance from the chromium-rich oxide film that forms on its surface and can reform after minor surface damage. Cold drawing increases strength through work hardening. Each drawing pass can increase tensile strength, allowing the same grade to be supplied in different conditions, from soft annealed for binding applications to spring-hard for coiled products.

The range covers five grades. Stainless Steel 310 and 321 are supplied to ASTM A580/A580M for elevated-temperature service, while 15-5 PH, 17-4 PH and 17-7 PH are precipitation-hardening grades supplied to AMS 5659, AMS 5643 and ASTM A313/A313M Type 631 respectively. Spring, welding, cold heading, weaving and binding wire types cover diameters from 0.09 mm to 15 mm. Wire is supplied on spools and in coils. Straightened and cut lengths can be arranged on request under ASTM A276 or ASTM A479/A479M.

Stock in Mumbai is approximately 60 to 70 tonnes. Stock items can generally be dispatched within 1 to 2 days, while made-to-order diameters require around 30 days. Cutting, testing and packing are carried out in-house, and each consignment is supplied with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate. As a stainless steel wire supplier, Amigo Impex covers pan-India, with exports to the USA, the Gulf, Europe and Asia. The wire is used to produce springs, fasteners, mesh and welding consumables for aerospace, oil and gas, defence, pumps and valves, and other industrial applications.

Applicable Standards for Stainless Steel Wire

ASTM A580/A580M is the product-form specification for stainless steel wire supplied in coils, and covers austenitic, austenitic-ferritic, ferritic and martensitic types. Grades 310 and 321 are supplied under it.

Stainless Steel Wire Grades

Five stainless steel wire grades are available: 310 and 321 for elevated-temperature applications, along with 15-5 PH, 17-4 PH and 17-7 PH for applications requiring higher strength.

Stainless Steel 310 Wires (UNS S31000)

Stainless Steel 310 wire contains approximately 25% chromium and 20% nickel, providing good oxidation and scaling resistance at elevated temperatures. It is used for furnace components, heat-treatment equipment, furnace mesh and other high-temperature applications. ER310 is used where a matching welding filler is required.

Stainless Steel 321 Wires (UNS S32100)

Stainless Steel 321 wire is defined by titanium stabilisation. Titanium binds carbon, reducing sensitisation between 425-815°C. This makes it ideal for welded components requiring resistance to intergranular corrosion after high-temperature exposure in demanding applications today.

Stainless Steel 15-5 PH Wires (UNS S15500)

Stainless Steel 15-5 PH is a martensitic precipitation-hardening grade offering high strength and good toughness. It is used in applications such as aerospace and defence components, fasteners and other high-strength applications where its mechanical properties are required.

Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Wires (UNS S17400)

The copper addition contributes to the precipitation-hardening response of Stainless Steel 17-4 PH wire. The grade is commonly used for cold-headed fasteners, valve components, shafting and other applications requiring a combination of strength and corrosion resistance. Appropriate ageing treatment after forming can further increase its mechanical strength.

Stainless Steel 17-7 PH Wires (UNS S17700)

Stainless Steel 17-7 PH wire combines a semi-austenitic structure with precipitation-hardening capability and is widely used for spring applications. ASTM A313 identifies the grade as Type 631. It is suitable for coiled springs and other components requiring high strength and controlled spring properties.

Shipping and Packaging of Stainless Steel Wires

Packaging depends on the wire format and destination. Spooled wire is packed in sealed cartons, coils are strapped and palletised under protective wrapping, and straightened cut lengths can be packed in lined wooden cases for export.

Each package is tagged with the grade, heat number, diameter and applicable specification. Custom marking is also available when specified in the order. Dispatch covers pan-India as well as export destinations in the USA, the Gulf, Europe and Asia.

Stainless Steel Wire Testing and Certifications

Every stainless steel wire lot undergoes the applicable chemical analysis, positive material identification and dimensional checks before packing. Tensile properties are documented according to the applicable grade, diameter and temper requirements.

Third-party inspection can be arranged when specified in the purchase order. Each consignment is supplied with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate, while 3.2 certification can be provided when required. We at Amigo Impex hold AS 9120B, PED, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications.

Stainless Steel Wires FAQs

Stainless steel wire is used for springs, fasteners, welding consumables, woven mesh, filtration screens, binding applications and other industrial products. Grade selection depends on the required combination of temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, strength and forming characteristics.

Diameters from 0.09 mm to 15 mm are available. Straightened and cut lengths are supplied on request up to 3,000 mm as a bar-form product. Sizes outside the standard supply range can be reviewed for production to order.

Yes, the strength of stainless steel wire depends significantly on its grade, condition and degree of cold work. Spring-hard wire can achieve substantially higher tensile strength than the same grade in a soft-annealed condition. The 15-5 PH, 17-4 PH and 17-7 PH grades can achieve higher strength through precipitation-hardening treatments.

Stainless Steel 310 wire is well suited to high-temperature service because its chromium and nickel content provides good resistance to oxidation and scaling. Grade 321 is also suitable for applications where welded components are exposed to elevated temperatures and resistance to sensitisation is required.

Yes, stainless steel metal wire is supplied on spools for fine diameters and machine feeding, in coils for larger sections, and as straightened cut lengths where straight stock is required.

Yes. Stainless steel wire can be supplied in custom diameters and conditions, subject to the selected grade and manufacturing requirements. Made-to-order draws generally require around 30 days and are confirmed against the required grade, size, condition and quantity.

Yes. Amigo Impex supplies stainless steel wire across pan-India from Mumbai and exports to the USA, the Gulf, Europe and Asia. Ready stock of approximately 60 to 70 tonnes supports urgent requirements, subject to the required grade and size.
