Amigo Impex is a super duplex steel wires manufacturer, stockist, supplier and exporter operating from Mumbai, India, since 2013. Wire leaves from our stock against ASTM A580/A580M for stainless steel wire, with the chemistry of every heat certified to the governing ASTM composition limits. Super duplex begins where the pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN) exceeds 40.
A near-equal split of austenite and ferrite gives super duplex stainless steel wire its properties. Strength comes from the two-phase structure itself: austenite and ferrite hold each other to a fine grain size, and nitrogen in solid solution lifts the yield strength well above that of a single-phase austenitic wire. Corrosion performance comes from the chemistry: 24.0 to 26.0% chromium, 3.0 to 5.0% molybdenum and 0.24 to 0.32% nitrogen in S32750 holds pitting, crevice attack and chloride stress corrosion cracking in check through seawater and brine duty.
Two grades make up the range. UNS S32750 (2507) handles chloride-driven service, and UNS S32760 has tungsten and copper added for acid and sour exposure. Two parent grades are stocked as drawn wire, S32750 and S32760, in spring, cold-heading, bright and coil types. Filler wire sits outside the grade split: one classification, AWS A5.9 ER2594, welds both parent grades and carries its own composition.
Our Mumbai warehouse holds 60 to 70 tonnes of ready material, so urgent dispatches leave within 1 to 2 days and made-to-order sizes take about 30 days. Cutting, testing and packing run in-house. Supply covers pan-India alongside export markets, and a mill test certificate to EN 10204 3.1 accompanies every order.
A super duplex steel wire enquiry opens with standard, grade and condition. The table records the supply envelope we quote against, and anything outside it is checked at the order stage.
ASTM A580/A580M carries no super duplex entries in its standard grade tables, so wire is supplied to its general requirements while S32750 and S32760 chemistry certifies against the applicable ASTM composition standard.
| Standard | Scope |
|---|---|
| ASTM A580/A580M | Stainless steel wire, the governing product-form specification |
| ASTM A555/A555M | General requirements for stainless steel wire and wire rods |
| AWS A5.9 | Bare stainless welding filler metals, covering the ER2594 classification |
Two grades divide the super duplex wire range, and the service medium decides between them. Nitrogen carries the pitting duty in the 2507 base, while tungsten and copper push S32760 into acid and sour service.
S32750 wire takes most orders in the range, covering seawater intakes, brine circuits and chemical process duty. Chromium at 24.0 to 26.0% and molybdenum at 3.0 to 5.0% carry most of the grade's pitting resistance.
Tungsten and copper, each at 0.50 to 1.00%, make Super Duplex S32760 Wires perform better than the 2507 base, and the sulphur cap tightens to 0.010%. Those additions justify the premium where acid, sour gas or halide media set the corrosion duty.
Five types are available in the super duplex steel wire range. These types are as follows:
Spooled wire travels in sealed cartons, coils go out strapped and wrapped, and straightened cut lengths pack into wooden cases with seaworthy lining for overseas orders. Grade, heat number, diameter and specification appear on every tag, with custom marking applied on request. Coil and spool weights follow the ordered quantity. Export consignments ship from Mumbai to the USA, the Gulf, Europe and Asia, while domestic despatch moves pan-India from the same stock.
Wire tensile tracks the draw ratio and the finished diameter rather than the grade alone, so mechanical results are certified per order against the stated condition. Before packing, each lot clears chemical analysis, positive material identification and dimensional checks in-house. Orders stay open for third-party inspection on request. A mill test certificate to EN 10204 3.1 records every heat, EN 10204 3.2 follows when specified, and our company holds AS 9120B, PED, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications.

ER2594 under AWS A5.9 is the filler wire for welding super duplex stainless steel. It runs on TIG and MIG processes and deposits weld metal that is deliberately nickel-enriched against the parent grades, typically 8.0 to 10.5% nickel where S32750 and S32760 hold 6.0 to 8.0%. The extra nickel restores the austenite to ferrite balance in the fast-cooling deposit, so joints keep the corrosion performance of the base material.
Super duplex wire outperforms 316 wire wherever chlorides govern the duty, holding a PREN above 40 where 316 sits far below the threshold. In mild atmospheres, 316 wire remains the economical choice and there's no case for the upgrade.
Alloy content separates 2205 duplex wire from super duplex wire: extra chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen lift the PREN past 40, a mark 2205 doesn't reach. Our duplex steel wire range carries the standard grades.
S32750 wire suits chloride and seawater work; S32760 wire answers acid, sour and halide exposure. You should pay the tungsten and copper premium only when the second set of conditions governs the application.
Super duplex stainless steel wire is magnetic. It's the ferrite half of the structure that responds to a magnet, unlike fully austenitic grades, so allow for the pull-in feeding and separation equipment.
Formed into springs, well screens, fasteners and weld deposits, SDSS wire serves these eight industries.
