Hastelloy C276 pipes and tubes carry the UNS N10276 designation. Seamless product is supplied to ASTM B622 / ASME SB-622, and welded product to ASTM B619 / ASME SB-619. A molybdenum-rich matrix backed by tungsten resists pitting and crevice corrosion in reducing chloride media, while chromium covers oxidising service. Carbon is limited to 0.010% maximum, helping maintain corrosion resistance in welded joints. Solution-annealed material reaches 690 MPa minimum tensile strength with 40% elongation.
Seamless tube to ASTM B622 is supplied from 4 mm up to 88.9 mm OD; 3½ in. is the maximum tube size the specification covers (B622, Section 1.3). Seamless pipe to B622 is ordered by NPS and schedule and is not limited to 88.9 mm. Larger seamless sections are supplied by agreement or as a welded/fabricated product. Welded pipe to ASTM B619 is supplied up to NPS 30 (762 mm OD). Larger diameters up to 1219.2 mm are supplied as fabricated pipe rolled from ASTM B575 plate in wall thicknesses of 3 mm to 20 mm. Seamless walls run from 0.5 mm to 20 mm. Demand is concentrated in flue gas desulphurisation, chemical processing, offshore seawater systems, pumps and valves, and pulp and paper applications. Molybdenum is a major component of UNS N10276 chemistry and contributes significantly to its resistance to reducing acids compared with conventional stainless steels. All three governing ASTM specifications B622, B619 and B626 set identical composition limits for UNS N10276.

Welded manufacture is the wider route for Hastelloy C276 pipe sizes, since seam welding reaches diameters a mandrel can't. Both forms are cut in-house, so an order pays only for what it needs.

Hastelloy C276 pipe is made of a low-carbon nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy: 15.0-17.0% molybdenum, 14.5-16.5% chromium, 3.0-4.5% tungsten and 4.0-7.0% iron, with nickel forming the balance and carbon capped at 0.010%.
Hastelloy C276 tube is used in chemical reactors, flue gas desulphurisation scrubbers, offshore seawater lines, heat exchangers, condensers and pulp bleaching circuits, where chlorides and mixed acids rule out stainless steel.
Seamless tube to ASTM B622 is available from 4 mm up to 88.9 mm OD, which is the maximum tube size the specification covers (B622, clause 1.3). Seamless pipe to B622 is ordered by NPS and schedule and is not capped at 88.9 mm. Larger seamless pieces are available on agreement or as a welded/fabricated product.
The difference is the seam: Hastelloy C276 seamless pipe comes from a solid billet and suits high-pressure small-bore service, while welded pipe, formed from strip, reaches larger diameters and longer runs at lower cost.
