These contain a fair amount of molybdenum which gives it similar properties to nickel. It is austenitic steel and has low carbon content as compared to its counterparts. The addition of molybdenum, nickel, and chromium makes it better resistive to all kinds of corrosion. This also makes it better prepared for acid attacks by sulfuric, acetic, formic, citric and other acids. Due to its low carbon content, it offers high resistance to sensitization. It also offers higher creep, high tensile strength, and stress to rupture even at very high temperatures.
These bars & rods offer a high level of corrosion resistance even in difficult environments. These environments are the effect of chemicals like acidic and chlorides. As it contains low carbon content so it offers high resistance to inter granular corrosion and compared to others in the same family.
